“I would be honored to continue serving as your Mayor of Monroe. I am an 18-year resident of our community, Oregonian for over 50 years, and married to my lovely wife, Michelle, a lifelong Monroe resident. We have two children attending Monroe High School. Since 2021, I have served as the Mayor of the City of Monroe. Prior to my role as Mayor, beginning in 2013, I served on the City of Monroe’s Planning Commission and, for two years, as Vice-Chair of the Planning Commission. During
my tenure as Planning Commissioner our community experienced new commercial and residential growth with Long Timber Brewing Company, Dollar General, and the Red Hills Subdivision. Today, we continue to see businesses blossom in Monroe including Christmas Junction, Monroe Arts Center & Gift Shop, Monroe Resale Shop, South Benton Resource Center’s Kepi Nak-Nak Café, and coming soon – Tumbleweed Taphouse – with more to follow!
For the next two years, as your Mayor, I will continue working with our federal, state, county, and local community partners to build a safe, healthy, and economically vibrant city. Also, I will continue our focus on implementing much needed upgrades
to our city’s water infrastructure. Those upgrades are planned for 2027 and include the Water System Modernization Project, Raw Water Intake Improvements, and in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Section 1135 Long Tom River Ecosystem Restoration Project there is the Monroe Dam removal project. Implementation of all three projects will build a solid foundation for the City of Monroe’s future growth, livability, and prosperity.”
I am running for re-election as mayor because, as a community minded citizen, I am committed to making a positive impact in the place I call home. I want Monroe to be a great place to raise a family, walk with our kids, and enjoy shopping and dining at local businesses with neighbors and visitors. I believe, together, we can build Monroe responsibly into a thriving community for our current and future generations.
